Illinois vs Virginia
- UI -4.0, Over / Under 55
Get thing started with….a stay away. Illinois has been inconsistent in their 1-1 start and Virginia has an amazing quarterback but not a lot around him. This is meant to be fun AND try to make some money. I see nothing fun about sweating this game and it feel like a good way to lose some money. Stay the hell away from it.
Indiana vs Idaho
- IU -24.5, O/U 49
Not sure why I couldn’t find reliable FCS lines a week ago but this week, I did, but oh well. Idaho was dominated statistically by WSU last week and the only reason it didn’t translate to the scoreboard were three Cougar turnovers. If Indiana plays clean they can cover.
Iowa vs Iowa State
- UI -3.5, O/U 39.5
I have the Hawkeyes winning by exactly a field goal…therefore take the points. Plus, with Iowa’s terrible offense, doesn’t it just feel like ISU is due to win this rivalry?
Maryland vs Charlotte
- UM -28.0, O/U 64.5
Charlotte has given up 43 and 41 points so far this season. They have ZERO defense. They’ve lost 43-13 and 41-24. Those opponents were FAU and William and Mary. Terps should put up around 50 alone in this game. I wish the over was a little closer to 60 for me to take the over. Personally, I’m just taking Maryland but if you want to be a total degenerate, might as well do the over, too.
Michigan vs Hawai’i
- UM -52.0, O/U 67
Hawai’i lost 63-10 to Vanderbilt. There is a real possibility Michigan could get to 70 in this one. 52 is an absurd number to hit, but it is the smart pick.
Michigan State vs Akron
- MSU -34.5, O/U 56
Based on how the Zips looked week one, I have no idea about the over/under but I do feel good about MSU winning by five touchdowns.
Minnesota vs Western Illinois
- UM -41.5, O/U 58.0
With the nasty Gopher O, I don’t see WIU scoring much, in fact a second straight shutout wouldn’t even surprise me. As a result, I’m taking the under because UM’s run-heavy offense probably can’t put up 60 alone with the clock bleeding every time they run.
Nebraska vs Georgia Southern
- NU -23.5, O/U 62.5
Cornhuskers couldn’t even beat North Dakota by 24, why do I think they will hit that mark against a much better GSU team? Gladly taking those points.
Northwestern vs Duke
- NU -10.0, O/U 56.0
I could end up with. a ton of purple egg on my face but I’m the Cats in this one. They had a weird cross-Atlantic week zero, then a week off, and now host a power five club. Duke meanwhile looked sharp in their week one blowout of Temple. My gut says NU ekes out a victory, but Duke covers. I’ll take those points.
Ohio State vs Arkansas State
- OSU -44.5, O/U 68.5
ASU has enough offense to move the ball some and shorten the game. I weirdly think this goes under. Something like 52-10. I just don’t see this game getting up to 70.
Penn State vs Ohio
- PSU -28.0, O/U 55.0
Trusting Penn State to win by 4 TDs feels a little dicey but the over feels very juicy. Bobcats put up a ton of points and yards in their opener and so did Penn State. I could see this one ending up somewhere in that 42-21 zone. Gimme the over.
Purdue vs Indiana State
- PU -37.0, O/U 54
I fully expect Purdue’s offense to go bananas in this game and put up more than enough points to cover this spread.
Rutgers vs Wagner
- RU -48.5, O/U 55
With RU’s stingy D, I don’t see Wagner doing much to help that over. Therefore…another under.
Wisconsin vs Washington State
- -UW -17.0, O/U 49
I think the Cougars make a go of things but over the sixty minutes, UW’s ground and pound game wear down Wazzu. Wisconsin pulls away in the late third quarter to cover this spread.
