Minnesota at Illinois
- UM -6.5, Over/ Under 39.5
I do not want to bet this spread at all because I have zero clue about the health of Illinois QB Tommy DeVito or Minnesota running back Mohamed Ibrahim. Yes, they are supposed to be back – but what is their “back” level? 100%? 75%? No thanks, not relying on those unknowns. I’ll bet the under because both defenses are legit.
Maryland at Indiana
- UM – 11.5 , O/U 62
Maryland’s game last week couldn’t even hit 62 and that was with fellow offensive club Purdue. Why will they cover this when Indiana’s offense hasn’t done much this year? I’ll take the under and not have to rely on Locksley being a road favorite.
Penn State at Michigan
- UM -7.0, O/U 49.0
Nothing Michigan has done these last two weeks indicates they are the fifth best team in the nation. They were a few bad plays away from having Maryland upset them, let Iowa hang around, and struggled through three quarters with Indiana. Penn State has had an extra week to add some new looks for this massive game. I have Michigan winning in that 3 to 4 point range, so I’ll take the points.
Wisconsin at Michigan State
- UW -7.5, O/U 49.0
Looking to make some money off this game by taking the Badgers and the over. I expect a similar result to last week’s drubbing of Northwestern but Sparty being a little more competent enough to add to the point total. 38-14 sound good to anybody?
Nebraska at Purdue
- PU -14.0, O/U 56.0
So in Nebraska’s two game winning streak they won by 14 against Indiana and beat Rutgers by just a point. Neither of those teams looks as good as Purdue right now, but two touchdowns was a little surprising to me. After all, Purdue’s three straight wins have been by 2 (FAU), 10 (Ibrahim-less Minnesota), and 2 (while being outplayed by Maryland). Purdue is winning these games, but isn’t particularly crisp right now. I’ll take the points because in my estimation, Purdue is about a touchdown better than the Huskers, not two touchdowns better.
Bye Week:
Iowa, Northwestern, Ohio State, and Rutgers
Lightning Round for Non-Readers:
Illinois/Minnesota – Under
Indiana/Maryland – Under
Michigan/Penn State – Points
Michigan State/Wisconsin – UW, Over
Nebraska/Purdue – Points
