Illinois vs Chattanooga
- UI – 19.5, Over / Under 44.5
Despite putting Illinois on an upset watch, their dismantling of Virginia was impressive. Smart pick is to take the Illini to cover at home and inch closer to that bowl they are so hungry for.
Indiana at Cincinnati
- UC -16.5, O/U 57
Bearcats should cover but I’m more intrigued by the over. All three of UC’s games would clear that 57 mark and two of IU’s three games would also clear. I’m sniffing a trend and going to take the over while ignoring the spread in case something goofy happens and the Hoosiers get a cover.
Iowa at Rutgers
- UI -7.5, O/U 34.0
I feel like I’m on a cruise ship doing the limbo and shouting “how low can you go?!” Guess what, I can still go lower! I’ll take the under as both defenses are solid and both offenses are some hospital jell-o that is wobbling.
Maryland at Michigan
- Michigan -17.0, O/U 64.5
If Maryland pulls off an insane upset, it will be by way of a crazy shootout. If Michigan wins in a blowout, it will be a big blowout as the Terrapin defense isn’t the strongest. Those two outcomes mean one bet: THE OVER!
Minnesota at Michigan State
- UM -3.0, O/U 51
I’ve been buying a lot of Gopher stock so far this year and I’m not about to stop now. I have Minnesota winning this by a touchdown and covering as a road favorite.
Northwestern vs Miami (OH)
- NU -7.5, O/U 49.5
God it is tempting to take those points, isn’t it? Here’s a better pick though – the over. All three of NU’s games have been safely in the 50s and two of Miami’s have cleared that mark too. Their one game that didn’t was still in the mid 40s. Keep it simple and take the smart pick: the over.
Wisconsin at Ohio State
- OSU -18.5, O/U 57
In the offseason I had OSU pulling away to win 28-14 and was really hoping this line would be closer to 21, but no luck. Still think the Badgers have the chops to hang around so I will very gingerly take the points. I’m already nervous.
Penn State vs Central Michigan
- PSU -28.0, O/U 63
Chips have been in two crazy shootouts already this season and Penn State is not afraid to score, I’m feeling the over. I also want to chase some and try to get two wins from this game. I reject Penn State being hung over and buy that they are locked in and all systems go. Taking the Lions to cover those four touchdowns.
Purdue vs Florida Atlantic
- PU -17.5, O/U 59
You have the most angry team in the league getting a cupcake at home, uh-oh for the Owls, yay for us. FAU looked awful in their loss to Central Florida. I expect Purdue to run wild, drop the hammer in this game and win big. Taking Purdue and the over as the Boilers put up 50+ alone.
