Illinois at Northwestern
- NU -17.0, Over / Under 58.5
Based on how awful Illinois looked against Iowa, Northwestern should win. Now will it be by 17 or more? That is where I have my doubts. Therefore I’ll go safe and ignore the spread by taking the under. Why? Because Northwestern’s defense is the most reliable unit in this game.
Indiana vs Purdue
- PU -3.0, O/U 65.0
They have matching records but Indiana has had a much tougher schedule, does that mean they are the better team? I honestly don’t know. I’ll go with the extremely explosive offense at home and trust the Boilers a tad more to cover.
Iowa vs Nebraska
- UI -7.5, O/U 52.0
Despite the second half surge Nebraska’s wins aren’t the most impressive (i.e. Bethune Cookman and Michigan State) so I expect Iowa to win at home by about 10. As for that over/under, the forecast is nasty so the under is inciting but go the other way. NU can score on anybody and their rush defense is poor. Even Iowa’s struggling rushing offense should be able to run against this Swiss cheese defense.
Maryland at Penn State
- PSU -12.5, O/U 53.0
Penn State is a near top ten team but they just seem off, right? I think Maryland has a real good chance at pulling the upset or at least keeping it close. Give me those points!
Michigan at Ohio State
- UM -4.0, O/U 52.0
Michigan is the more complete team thanks to their defense packed with future NFLers. I’ll take road favorite knowing full well the Horseshoe is a house of horrors in big games for the visitor.
Michigan State vs Rutgers
- MSU -24.5, O/U 37.0
Can Michigan State even score 25 points? Honestly, their offense is awful. I’ll take the points. Factor in Rutgers will probably be shutout, might as well take the under, too.
Minnesota at Wisconsin
- UW -11.0, O/U 54.0
With the Gopher D not being very good and UW’s defense being a nasty combination of woefully young and filled with injuries, I’m going to take the over rather than try and trust one of these teams against that spread…especially since UW is 3-8 ATS this year, yuck!
