The following teams are off this week:
- Michigan
- Ohio State
- Rutgers
The following games do not have a spread:
- Nebraska vs Bethune-Cookman
Illinois at Maryland
- UM -17.0, Over / Under 54.5
So normally Maryland runs the ball well. You wouldn’t know that from the Iowa game, but it is their bread and butter. Illinois just got shredded by Wisconsin’s running game. I’ll take the home team to cover, even though 17 points for Maryland feels like a lot.
Indiana at Minnesota
- IU -2.5, O/U 54.5
I don’t trust the Gopher D and I am in a hole gambling wise. Time to fight fire with fire and go aggressive. Hoosiers cover as road favorites and shred Minnesota to give us the over.
Iowa at Penn State
- PSU -5.0, O/U 54.5
Win or lose, I think Iowa’s defense stifles Penn State enough to prevent this game from going over. I know I’m in that hole and went aggressive that last game, but it is just too hard to know how the Lions come out and play that spoiler role or if Iowa is inspired as they try to chase Wisconsin down so I’ll be a pinch safer here.
Michigan State vs Purdue
- MSU -1.0, O/U 50.5
I would love to jump back on the gas and take the over but MSU’s defense does warrant respect. Therefore I’ll just go with the team that has something I like to call “offense.” Purdue wins in East Lansing.
Northwestern vs Wisconsin
- UW -5.5, O/U 50.5
Wildcat defense has the ability to make Wisconsin one-dimensional so I’m not going to be hyper aggressive in this one and just take the Badgers in a key road victory by 7+. I know I’m in that hole, but there are still some weeks to go so I don’t have to be that desperate…yet.
Lightning Round for Non-Readers:
Illinois/Maryland – UM
Indiana/Minnesota – IU, Over
Iowa/Penn State – Under
Michigan State/Purdue – PU
Northwestern/Wisconsin – UW
