Illinois at Wisconsin
- UW -26.5, Over / Under 54.0
Wisconsin was embarrassed last week both on the field as well as on the sidelines with some horrible coaching calls. An angry swarm of Badgers take things out on an Illinois team that was just demolished by Purdue.
Indiana vs Penn State
- PSU -14.0, O/U 56.5
After watching Indiana in person a week ago, I was thoroughly unimpressed. Nittany Lions get back on track in a big way and cover as two score road favorites.
Iowa vs Maryland
- UI -9.0, O/U 43.5
Iowa’s rush defense has been great all year. Even Wisconsin struggled to move the ball on the ground in Iowa’s lone loss. I’m not convinced Maryland is a good enough passing team yet to win this game if the ground game fails to get going. I very cautiously take Iowa.
Michigan at Michigan State
- UM -7.5, O/U 39.5
Holy smokes that is a low number to clear. Since my picks haven’t been too hot this year I’m having a bit of a conservative week to try and get back above .500 for the season. As a result, I’ll play it safe and say that this game can get into the 40s. Take the over.
Minnesota at Nebraska
- NU -5.0, O/U 56.0
Gopher defense is too good to have this thing run away from them. I expect this game to be either a narrow Nebraska victory or an outright Minnesota win. Therefore, I’ll take the points, albeit nervously.
Northwestern at Rutgers
- NU -20.5, O/U 48.5
I know I joked in my preview that NU makes things interesting on themselves and while that is true in a lot of games, it was mostly for comedic purposes this week. The fact is Northwestern has a nice defense and Rutgers turns the ball over at an alarming rate. Wildcats should cover.
Ohio State at Purdue
- OSU -13.5, O/U 67.0
Purdue’s offense is too good not to put up some points so unlike last week where Minnesota’s O did little and their D did a lot to prevent the game going over, I don’t see that happening again. I also like that the spread is a tick under 14 points because I think Ohio State wins by 14. It will be a fun game, but OSU does just enough – especially late – to seal the victory.
