2018 Week 6 Gambling Guide

The following teams are off this week:

  • Penn State
  • Purdue

Illinois at Rutgers

  • UI -1.5, Over / Under 50.5

Oohf, this is a brutal looking game as the two worst teams in the league square off but Illinois has had some flashes their last two games then they had a bye week.  Two weeks should be plenty of time for Illinois to prepare and win this game by a couple points.

Indiana at Ohio State

  • OSU -27.0, O/U 62.5

Hoosiers defense feels too good to lose this game by four touchdowns.  I think Indiana keeps it competitive for just long enough to cover.  Still might not be pretty and could end up being a 24 point blowout but this team and program are different than the Hoosier teams of old.

Iowa at Minnesota

  • UI -3.0, O/U 42.5

The last two games in this series have combined for 48 points.  Take that under.  Iowa is a few special teams mistakes away from being 4-0 with a win over Wisconsin.  They have looked better and played the tougher schedule.  Despite Iowa’s post-bye issues in the Ferentz era, they are the smart pick.

Maryland at Michigan

  • Michigan -17.5, O/U 52.5

Michigan has smoked Maryland the last few years and I can’t help but think some that had to do with Harbaugh knowing his old assistant coach’s scheme so well.  With Durkin out, maybe Maryland hangs around in this one.  I love that half point, too because Michigan can win 34-17 and we still get our money!  I’ll cautiously take the points.

Michigan State vs Northwestern

  • MSU -9.0, O/U 47.5

Two teams with solid defenses and shaky offenses?  I’ll take that under.  As for MSU they have two games with double digit wins.  At Indiana by 14 and Central Michigan by just 11.  I think the Wildcats hang around in this one so I will cautiously take the points here, too.

Nebraska at Wisconsin

  • UW -23.0, O/U 55.5

The Husker defense is awful.  Wisconsin runs the rock all over them as Jonathan Taylor explodes after the bye week for at least 150 yards and 2 scores.  The game also goes over because Wisconsin wins 49-21.
