2016 Week 9 Gambling Guide

The following teams are off this week:

  • Iowa
  • Rutgers

Illinois vs Minnesota

  • Minnesota -9, Over/Under 46.5

I don’t know what in the world to think of this one.  Minnesota nearly lost to Rutgers in a wild affair.  I’m taking the Gophers to cover because this game is more important to them and the uncertainty of health for Illinois’s quarterbacks is highly concerning.

Indiana vs Maryland

  • Indiana -3.5, O/U 53.5

I really like this Hoosier team but with a healthy Perry Hills this Terps rushing attack (and offense overall) is downright scary.  I think the Terps steal this game on the road.

Michigan at Michigan State

  • Michigan -24.5, O/U 52.5

MSU’s defense couldn’t catch a cold right now and the Wolverines are out for blood after their in-state rival has won three straight and seven of the last eight.  Plus we remember last year’s insane finish.  Michigan covers and puts up enough points to put the over in jeopardy.

Nebraska at Wisconsin

  • Wisconsin -9.5, O/U 43

With so many nicks on the Nebraska offense, I am having a hard time seeing them putting up a lot of points in this game.  Wisconsin notches a big win to reshuffle the Big Ten West race.

Northwestern at Ohio State

  • Ohio State -27.5, O/U 52

I know Ohio State will get back on track but this Northwestern team has played so well the last month I can’t see them dropping a game by four touchdowns.  OSU wins, but the Cats cover.

Penn State at Purdue

  • Penn State -14, O/U 56.5

I’m avoiding this game like the plague.  A letdown after a massive upset is always possible…but do I really trust Purdue?  Nope!  A rare stay-away for both degenerates and casual gamblers.

Western Michigan at Ball State

  • No Line, Tuesday

Aargh, this is so annoying!  Tuesday games are considered the following week and since Vegas doesn’t give lines a week in advance, this one wont have anything until closer to the game.  Guess I’ll just have to have a supplemental closer to it.  Lame!

Lightning Round for Non Readers:

Illinois/Minnesota – UM

Indiana/Maryland- Points

Michigan/Michigan State – UM, Over

Nebraska/Wisconsin – UW

Northwestern/Ohio State – Points

Penn State/Purdue – Stay Away
