Iowa/Michigan/Minnesota/Purdue – Idle
Illinois vs Wisconsin
UW -6.5, Over / Under 45.5
Last time we saw Illinois they were down 6 late in the game to Iowa before a costly fumbled resulted in another field goal to go down 9 and effectively end the game. Incidentally, that game ended 29-20. So what does this mean? Well we know Iowa and Wisconsin are very similar based on their 10-6 duel / mirror act in Madison. I think this will be a highly competitive game but the difference will be UW’s incredible defense making plays late to allow the Badger’s to cover. I’m leaning under, too. The score 24-17 is buzzing around my head.
Indiana at Michigan State
MSU -16.5, O/U 62.5
Hmmmmm, which Indiana will show up? I think based on MSU putting up 20 points of offense on the outstanding Michigan defense and Indiana having 50 point capabilities, I’m inclined to take the over. Factoring in Indiana’s defense being contractually obligated to play, I like that even more. I think this game will be close for a while, especially with Indiana coming off heartbreak and wanting to bounce back and MSU with a natural hangover. Does the competitive and closeness last? That’s the million dollar question. I’m going to say MSU wins by two touchdowns but not any more than that. Anxiously taking the points.
Maryland vs Penn State
PSU -6.5, O/U 47
Penn State’s defense gets back on track after a rough outing in Columbus. I’ll take the under and PSU has an uninspiring 21-10 win, covering the touchdown spread on the road.
Nebraska vs Northwestern
NU (Red) -7.5, O/U 51.5
I’m tempted to say “stick a fork in the Wildcats, they’re done”…but…if NU gets back on track against anybody, it would be the Husker’s shaky defense. Still, I’ll take Big Red to cover at home. And the other bet? Hmm, Tommy Armstrong Jr. has quietly put up some numbers. The Wisconsin and Illinois games were brutal but he bounced back in a nice way against Minnesota. If the Huskers can put up a big number like 35, I love our chances at catching that over, but let’s keep that for us degenerates.
Ohio State at Rutgers
OSU -21.5, O/U 59
You did see OSU just shred Penn State’s top 10 defense and Rutgers give up 52 to Indiana, right? Gimme that over thanks to Ohio State dropping half a hundred. I think the Buckeyes have found their grove so I like them to cover, too.
Lightning Round:
Illinois/Wisconsin – UW, Under
Indiana/Michigan State – Points, Over
Maryland/Penn State – PSU, Under
Nebraska/Northwestern – Huskers, Over (Degenerate tip)
Ohio State/Rutgers – OSU, Over
