Illinois / Maryland – Idle
Indiana vs Rutgers
IU -7, Over / Under 61.5
After getting burned a week ago by Indiana not giving much information about the injured Sudfeld and Howard I am dubious about betting this game; however, I’ll take the points. Rutgers gets coach Flood back and gave MSU all they could handle. Even if Sudfeld/Howard play, how effective will they be?
Iowa at Northwestern
UI -1, O/U 41
I like the Hawks to escape with a win but I love that under. These two defenses are playing out of this world right now, even with a little hiccup for both last week. Always risky betting on Iowa against Northwestern but with Iowa’s rushing attack and solid defense, their game feel more portable than past seasons.
Michigan vs Michigan State
UM -7, O/U 41.5
Well on the podcast I do (Illegal Motion, check it out, we’re on iTunes) I picked Sparty to win despite my better judgement. I’ll take the points then, I guess. If MSU does win, I think the game will be in the 20s, 28-24 or something similar so I’ll take the over then by default. Why do I have a sneaking suspicion I’m kicking myself when I do the grades next week?
Minnesota vs Nebraska
UM -2.5, O/U 47.5
Nebraska’s defense is a mess and who knows where their confidence is. I’ll take the Gophers to cover such a slim spread at home. No clue about how high scoring this game will be so I will do the smart thing and pocket my money and stay away from the over for this game.
Ohio State vs Penn State
OSU -19, O/U 47
Penn State has slipped into the top 10 defensively and did take OSU to overtime last year. I think it will be a closer game than expected. I’ll take the points. Not sure about that over. My gut says under but that feels too low for a game involving the Bucks. I’ll stay away from that to be safe.
Purdue at Wisconsin
UW -23.5, O/U 50.5
I honestly believe Wisconsin hangs half a hundred on Purdue so I’ll take UW to cover and dash the over. Bucky rolls on homecoming against an overwhelmed PU club.
Lightning Round:
Indiana/Rutgers – Points
Iowa/Northwestern – UI, Under
Michigan/Michigan State – Points, Over
Minnesota/Nebraska – UM
Ohio State/Penn State – Points
Purdue/Wisconsin – UW, Over
